The Sesse Islands are located on Lake Victoria near the city of Entebbe. There are 86 islands that make up the Sesse Islands of which approximately 75 of the islands are inhabited. The inhabitants of the islands number over 30 thousand. Our ministry will be addressing 4 critical issues: • Health Care – An estimated 85 to 95% of the population of the islanders are infected with either HIV or AIDS.• Sustainable Clean Water Sources – The lack of clean water leads to many water born diseases that could be prevented with clean water. • Education - A typical child receives an education equivalent to our first grader. • Spiritual Transformation – Many of the islanders are Muslim or practice some form of witchcraft. |
