While in college I had the opportunity to take part in a mission trip to Mexico.
During our week long trip we dug irrigation ditches for an orphanage.
During our breaks we would feed the orphans and children from the surrounding community.
The eyes of the children told a story, one of fear, hopelessness and uncertainty.
I felt God's call to share the good news of Jesus,
the One who calms the fears of the fearful and gives hope to the hopeless.
As I touched the faces of those precious children it was as if I was touching the face of God.
"Truely I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even to the least of them, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40

At a wednesday night youth event we watched a video about children in Africa.
Afterwards a youth intern came up to me and said she could see me there one day.
It was then God first squeezed my heart for foreign missions.
I saw myself being the one loving on those children in need.
As a senior in high school God squeezed my heart again.
I made a public commitment to my church to serve the Lord overseas.
I had a love for children so I went to college and got my degree in elementary education knowing that one day I'd be a missionary.
